FCC Ham “Phone Book”!
Click this link to view/download an 8.4 MB “phone book” of all active FCC ham licenses. It displays 1% of total active licenses. The full 100% “phone book” weighs in at 380 MB using PDF’s internal compression. Put it in a .zip file and it shrinks to 67 MB. This is a niche product, suitable for folks with limited-to-no bandwidth when they chase QSOs. It’s another resource that can drive visits to PARC’s website. DJ asked me how often we’d update it, and I proposed “every other month.” Technically, I can produce it every week; realistically, I can produce it monthly. But I’ve monitored new-ham statistics and I figure every other month works. Bill suggested a phone book sorted by zip code. That’s just a trivial change. The software I’ve written over the years to accomplish things like this makes it easy. Click the same link to view/download the latest 1% sample “call book” for active FCC ham licenses.
